Obama likes to liken his role of Presidential leadership as that of a storyteller. No, Obama is a liar.

As FactCheck.org reminds us, the program under which Solyndra was handed $500 million in taxpayer money was authorized in the Obama/Reid/Pelosi partisan “stimulus” bill of 2009. Zero House Republicans voted for that law. Also, a previous Solyndra loan application was explicitly rejected by Bush-era actuaries because of its inherent soundness problems. Some of Obama’s bookkeepers continued to warn against its approval, but they were overruled by the White House political team because the president’s allies were determined to make the company the “poster child” of his green vision. That’s also why Obama ignored internal worries and held a big presidential photo-op at Solyndra’s (now-defunct) factory.

Neither Republicans, nor Bush, bear responsibility for Solyndra. Obama’s re-election strategy hinges on him duping the public into believing his version of reality.

And then there’s this:

“Today, I’m directing my administration to cut through the red tape, break through the bureaucratic hurdles and make this project a priority, to go ahead and get it done,” Obama said, referring to the southern end of the Keystone pipeline, against a backdrop of pipeline sections ready to be installed. The full pipeline would run from Canada to the Gulf Coast.

“The northern portion of it we’re going to have to review properly to make sure that the health and safety of the American people are protected,” he said. “That’s common sense.”

Lie, lie, lie.

I’ll admit it. I want to see this movie.

Love the hook of this song:

Obama’s flying to South Korea today. For those keeping track, Shofar has compiled some stats for us:

Yesterday I calculated the number of miles Obama has flow so far this year.

With today’s trip here are the totals:
January 2012 = 8,138
February 2012 = 7,584
March 2012 = 17,570
YTD total = 33,293 miles
YTD totals: domestic 26,363; International 6930

The average cruising speed of AF1 is approx. 550 mph. for an approx flight time total of 60.5 hr. times the p/hr operational cost of AF1 ($181,757) and your total operating cost thus far for 2012 for AF1 is $10,995,298.50.

11 million dollars is a lot of money, but I suppose we need to look at what we’ve gotten for our money.

  1. When he can play paddy fingers and talk about laying pipe with David Cameron, can ANY price be too high for sumptuous airborne luxury travel?
