Occupy ITBO

Widespread OWS protests planned today. Opening the festivities is a march on Wall Street and an attempt to disrupt the opening of the work day. In the afternoon, they are to gathering at transit hubs, and take trains (advising other commuters on income inequality) to Foley Square where a large rally is planned. Next, a march across the Brookly Bridge.

He said he thinks the sweep of Zuccotti Park will make the protests stronger by stripping away the people who came only for fun and free food, not activism.

” Michael Bloomberg is my hero,” Mr. Mills said. “He catapulted us out of all this lethargy. He threw out all the drunks, all the hypocrites, all the liars, all the people who were here for a little bit of fun, and brought us down to the people who are smart enough to get things done and really have something invested in this.”

But … I thought they were the 99%?

One 99%er who won’t be protesting today is Nkrumah Tinsley.

On the 17th (of Nov.), we’re going to burn New York City to the f—ing ground,” an angry Tinsley told a crowd of demonstrators in the video posted on Tuesday.

“In a few days, you’re going to see what a Molotov cocktail can do to Macy’s.”

And then there’s this guy :

ABC News reports that according to U.S. Park Police, a man who is believed to have fired a shot at the White House last week “may have spent time blending in with Occupy D.C. protesters.” On Twitter, The Daily Caller’s Jim Treacher quips: “So he didn’t stand out? Imagine that.”

Of course, the Occupation has become less popular, and more and more people start to understand what the movement is actually about. It was time for them to go, so coincidentally they all started getting booted around the same time. Mysterious? No.

In New York on the order of Mayor Bloomberg, who had protected Occupy Wall Street (OWS); in Oakland, Calif., where Mayor Jean Quan had apologized to Occupy when Oakland police had earlier confronted the protesters; and in Portland, Ore., where Mayor Sam Adams had praised the Occupy protesters when the camps were first set up.

It is now coming out that, in city after city, the crackdown on Occupy camps was coordinated with federal agencies. Behind the scenes, Obama led the Occupy crackdown.

Local law enforcement agencies in cities with Occupy camps were advised by the FBI and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) on a range of tactics, planning and preparation.

According to blog reports, local police received legal advice from federal agencies on establishing, through local zoning laws and curfew ordinances, the legal bases for the evictions. Tactical advice included the ideal show of force, the hour to strike, and coordination with, and assistance from, various federal agencies.

The FBI reportedly advised on press relations, urging cities to begin the camp clearing when the press was least likely to be present.

Oakland Mayor Quan confirmed to the BBC that 18 mayors had participated in a conference call before the crackdown to share this tactical and practical advice on how to stop a movement that they had encouraged.

In Pittsburgh, DHS did a “threat assessment” on Occupy for local police. Because this assessment did not mention “terrorism,” is DHS now doing these assessments for political purposes?

In Portland, the protesters got pictures of DHS agents helping arrest Occupiers who refused to go.

Confronted with evidence of federal involvement in coordinating the crackdown, the FBI, the DHS and local police departments have all clammed up.

Of course, all this happens while Obama is out of the country. And when he gets back he and Michelle are going to be pimping the country/Nascar demographic. Michelle is going to be the Grand Marshal at a Nascar event and then Obama hosts some country performers at the White House:

Fans of NASCAR and country music often overlap and represent key voter segments in portions of battleground states like Florida, Ohio, North Carolina, Virginia, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Indiana, Missouri and Missouri.

Among the performers on the bill are Lauren Alaina, The Band Perry, Dierks Bentley, Alison Krauss, Kris Kristofferson, Lyle Lovett, Mickey, Darius Rucker and James Taylor.
