Saturday Must Reads

Powerline:

What the Democrats are trying to do, of course, is gain absolution for all of their fiscal sins by negotiating a cosmic deal with the GOP that, as I once put it, would put Republicans in the position of going over the waterfall holding hands with the Democrats.

Steyn rocks my world, even when I wanna cry when I’m done reading his stuff:

That thoughtful observer of the passing parade, Nancy Pelosi, weighed in on the “debt ceiling” negotiations the other day: “What we’re trying to do is save the world from the Republican budget. We’re trying to save life on this planet as we know it today.”

It’s always good to have things explained in terms we simpletons can understand. After a while, all the stuff about debt-to-GDP ratio and CBO alternative baseline scenarios starts to give you a bit of a headache, so we should be grateful to the House minority leader for putting it in layman’s terms: What’s at stake is “life on this planet as we know it today.”

Nancy has lost her mind. Honestly, she is batshit crazy stupid.

Repeat there are no cuts. Nothing, in any of the proposals, is going to cut SHIT from anything. We’re going to keep racking up those debt are close to the same rate we are now.

JHoward over at Protein Wisdom has great links and commentary.

Don’t believe that for a second. Every move that evil, souless bitch makes is calculated and planned. Cloward/Piven
