Oh, here’s a surprise ….
The NEA has already endorsed Obama. I’ve been on pins and needles waiting to see which way they were going to go for 2012.
The nation’s largest education union has endorsed President Obama’s 2012 re-election campaign.
Members of the National Education Association voted to support Mr. Obama on Monday at their annual convention in Chicago.
In a statement, NEA President Dennis Van Roekel says Mr. Obama and the union share a vision and that members wanted early and strong support to help his election.
And what would that vision be? Jobs for teachers and administrators, of course. From pre-school to college.
John Stossel as a piece up about the great college scam that’s worth a read.
“There are 80,000 bartenders in the United States with bachelor’s degrees,” Vedder said. He says that 17 percent of baggage porters and bellhops have a college degree, 15 percent of taxi and limo drivers. It’s hard to pay off student loans with jobs like those. These days, many students graduate with big debts.
After 12 years of a crappy education (providing jobs for teachers, and union dues) many students are poorly prepared for college. I’m not telling you guys anything you don’t know.
Despite the scam, the Obama administration plans to increase the number of students getting Pell grants by 50 percent.
Of course, that’s not going to happen if we let those jet owners keep that tax deduction.
Look, it’s come to this; Jet Owners or Pell Grants for kids who shouldn’t be going to college. Think of the children.
