FIAF – You’re a Dick Edition

Quick Review: MSNBC style book dictates that you mustn’t call the President of the United States a “dick.” But it’s perfectly OK to call a group of patriotic Americans “Teabaggers.”

Got it.

Can we call Obama an ass?

A little VDH is always good for sobering you up:

[The] notion that platitudinous elites could, by their proclaimed virtue, establish a constitutional union without real democratic values proved unrealizable. More important still, socialism came to an end with fiscal insolvency. [snip] [N]orthern Europeans now realize that they too have a rendezvous with a Greek-like reckoning unless they increase worker productivity, curb government, prune the power of public-employee unions, bring market-based incentives back into the workplace, reestablish national sovereignty, raise the retirement age, and address the declining demography that is so often the handmaiden of socialism.

Here in the US, we have California. Our Greece. And a dozen other mini-Greeces across the county where public pensions and liberal politicians are demanding that somone – everyone else – make good the promises that were made to them.

As we near 50 million Americans on food stamps, another year of 9-plus percent unemployment, and the third $1 trillion–plus budget deficit, even statists are beginning to see that statism does not work — a fact brought home not just by the disaster in Greece, but also by the growing divide between a successful red-state paradigm and California-like blue-state doldrums.

Read the whole thing, and then cut yourself.

On Obama’s false choice – corporate jets or the National Weather Service – Andrew Stiles is on the case. Amid all that essential spending, this one’s my favorite:
A $300 annual gym membership reimbursement program for all NWS employees, a benefit that few private sector workers enjoy, at a total cost of up to $1.3 million in taxpayer dollars per year.

Cool. I see the Obamas are scaling back their vacation plans to partake in a more modest affair with an eye to the suffering of the American people.

Ha ha ha. JK. They are going to Martha’s Vineyard again. Hope and Change folks. What exactly what he going to change? We are in the worst economy since the Great Depression, and the first family can’t adjust their glorious emperor lifestyle one iota. And the MSM could care less.

At least he didn’t promise that he felt our pain.

John Conyers is confused and possibly scared:

“This is the first time that I can remember being confronted by members of the Congress, my colleagues, who say, ‘I don’t care if I get reelected or not, I want to cut the budget by $100 billion or whatever,'” said a bewildered Rep. John Conyers (D-Mich.), who was first elected to Congress in 1964. “I’ve never seen that kind of a member before. … It’s a dangerous point of view from my perspective.”

He sees those words forming a sentence, he’s just befuddled by the meaning. Being a career politician, the idea of accountability and progress is foreign. Under his reign, his constituents have seen life in a continuous downward spiral. Unemployment up, quality of education down. Poverty up. And not ONCE has he had to answer for his shitty performance as a public servant.

It is his JOB. It pays HIS bills. EOL.

Ok, now I’m totally depressed. Someone call me a racist and make my day.

Is this a cover?*

*that’s a joke

Srsly, great post. Love the Conyers quote. It basically sums up everything that is wrong with career politicians.

Cut $100 billion? Drop in the bucket. Cut a couple of trillion. Privatize social security. Get the hell rid of everything else. Serve as a politician? Must keep a day job.
