Planned Nonparenthood, although “planned” isn’t exactly the right word for it

Planned Parenthood by the numbers, from WSJ:

As for serving pregnant women, that would be worth some congressional attention too. Planned Parenthood’s own numbers show that more than 97% of pregnant women it treated were given abortions—against fewer than 3% who received nonabortion services such as adoption or prenatal care.

The only “prenatal care” I was offered when I showed up at the door of PP years and years ago was a bottle of vitamins. Nothing else.

Despite all the lionizing, by the left, of what Planned Parenthood does last week, what they mostly do is pass out birth control and abortions.

What’s going to happen,” [Planned Parenthood’s president] Richards told Behar, “if this bill ever becomes law, millions of women in this country are going to lose their health care access — not to abortion services — to basic family planning, you know, mammograms, cancer screenings, cervical cancer …”
Live Action phoned 30 Planned Parenthood clinics in 27 states. They spoke to clinics in Indianapolis, St. Louis, Atlanta, Lincoln, Washington, D.C., and many other cities. The responses were uniform. Not a single Planned Parenthood clinic that Live Action phoned performed mammograms. “We’re mostly a surgical facility” one receptionist explained.

PP performs breast exams (not mammograms) and Pap smears. Annual exams.

I’m not against any of these things. What I’m against is that PP is federally funded and it provides abortions. It’s a huge organization with hefty salaries for it’s executives (even at a regional level). And, lookie here, it takes donations.

The federal government gave PP $360 million to cover its $1.2 billion annual budget

28% of it’s funding comes from contributions.

And … it makes … a profit. Of course, they call it “an excess of revenue”.

Not one of those three things is “family planning” – all are basic health exams. PP just flat out lies….

And I loved BisW’s hyper-liberal sparing partner saying that it was double standard to have abortions legal and not fund them (via Planned Parenthood). Um…. my RV is legal, too. Does that mean the goverment is going to fund my ownership of it? Cool!

Yea – lol – that was lame.

Boob jobs are legal. When are you folks gonna pony up the $$ for me?

  3. agiledog Says:

I’ll contribute, Car in. Maybe you could get Jeff G. to run a separate fund raiser for it?

Of course, we’d need before and after pics. Strictly for research purposes, ya know.

Sorry. I’m tapped out. I had to help pay for hundreds of thousands of abortions women’s health services last year through Planned Murderhood.

I’m sure we can find you some volunteers to help with the breast exams though…
