FIAF – Obama is a liar edition

From The Hammer:

Classic Obama debt reduction: Add $2 trillion in new taxes, then add another $1 trillion in new spending and, presto, you’ve got $1 trillion of debt reduction. It’s the same kind of mad deficit accounting in Obamacare: It reduces debt by adding $540 billion in new spending, then adding $770 billion in new taxes. Presto: $230 billion of “debt reduction.” Bialystock & Bloom accounting.

More:

And what of those “painful cuts” Obama is making to programs he really cares about? The catch is that these “cuts” are from a hugely inflated new baseline created by the orgy of spending in Obama’s first two years. These were supposedly catastrophe-averting, anti-Depression emergency measures. But post-recession they remain in place. As a result, discretionary non-defense budget levels today are 24 percent higher than before Obama — 84 percent higher if you add in the stimulus money.

And most egregious? You think about this next time you hear a teaching whining- education spending for 2012 is 35% higher than it was in 2008.

Michelle Malkin on Wisconsin. Money quote:

If ever there were proof that public unions no longer work in the public interest, this is it. Big Labor dragoons workers into exclusive representation agreements, forces them to pay compulsory dues that fatten Democratic political coffers, and then has the chutzpah to cast itself as an Egyptian-style “freedom” and “human rights” movement.

It’s for the children, of course.

The large number of expected absences led the Madison School District to cancel school for the third consecutive day Friday.

Numerous other districts also have canceled classes Friday (see list attached to this story).

Milwaukee is among the districts closing Friday, after more than 600 teachers called in sick for Friday, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

WWRD?

Ha ha haa … Rich Lowry sums up government fail in one paragraph:

The old so-called Wisconsin Idea was that government would collaborate with experts drawn from the state’s university system to craft progressive legislation. The new Wisconsin Idea is that the state is broke.

See, experts from the university system SUCK at … just about everything IRL.

Wisconsin faces a $3.6 billion budget shortfall over the next two years. Walker’s first move is a bill to address an immediate $137 million hole by, among other things, requiring most public workers to pay half their pension costs (up from zero) and 12.6 percent of their health-care costs (up from about 6 percent). The bill also curtails the institutional advantages that have fueled public-sector union power, including collective bargaining.

HOW DARE THEY BE ASKED SUCH THINGS.

*hopes that such outrage and displays of OUTRAGE occur in Michigan.

So, I used to do American Idol stuff, but I stopped that a few years ago when it really began to suck. So far this year, though, it’s looking pretty darn good.

I like this guy:

The song he did last night was better, but I haven’t found it.

But there is a lot of his stuff out there:

Being the first to comment, let me start by saying I was with you right up to the last part.

Don’t watch tv. It’s what proles do.

  2. Car in Says:

You watch movies, though. I don’t watch much tv, but American Idol is something my kids and I kinda like to watch together.

I’m a huge music person, so it appeals to me up until the point that it turns all pop.

there was a guy last night who played an standup bass, and sang a rather jazzy version – oh, here it it is.
