What we have here …

The problem with Ace of Spades is that there are 1) so many daily posts and B) a bazillion commenters.

So, thus, by the time “I” see an article, the comments are 1) in the thousands or B) dead an moved-on.

Some may say that this is my problem, but whatever. I can’t keep up.

So, I see this article by Geoff over there, and it’s way too late to participate in the conversation. The comments are up to 500 or so and died off last night around 9:30. But, enough of my bitching, onto the issue at hand, which is Obama is an idiot.

In his weekly address to the nation, President Barack Obama previewed the challenge he is likely to deliver in a speech to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Monday: If the business community invests in America, the government will make sure America “is the best place on earth to do business.”

“If we make America the best place to do business, businesses should make their mark in America,” the president said. “They should set up shop here, and hire our workers, and pay decent wages, and invest in the future of this nation. That’s their obligation.”

If the business community does what? “Invests” in America? It does that by providing jobs and paying taxes. Everything that this man says is absolutely devoid of meaning.

>In his weekly address, Obama reiterated his goals of fostering business growth, increasing U.S. exports, and revamping the American workforce. The national economy, he said, depends on the government making upgrades in education and technology, as well as promoting — and in some cases, helping to advance — groundbreaking business proposals.

NO NO NO. Do No Want. I do not want the “government” making “upgrades” in education. The government SUCKS at making upgrades. They merely throw more money with absolutely NO improvements in outcome.

Ultimately, our true measure of progress has to be whether every American who wants a job can find one; whether the jobs available pay well and offer good benefits; whether people in this country can still achieve the American Dream for themselves and their children,” the president said. “That’s the progress we’re after.”

What about the people who don’t want a job? And what business is it of government is a job “pays well” and offers “good” benefits. Screw that. That’s why people strive to improve. That’s why they show up at work on time, and do their job well. So they get RAISES. So, if they hate their job, they can move to a better paying job.

Some people are shitty workers who don’t deserve good benefits. Life is hard for stupid people. And by “stupid” I don’t mean an IQ level. I mean people who don’t see a connection between the effort the put into life, and the outcome of those efforts.

People who are chronically late and drink a 40 during lunch hour don’t deserve a decent wage and “good” benefits.

So. We have this economic system called capitalism, see. It has some faults, but it’s built entirely around incentivizing people to work hard and innovate. It’s been the most wildly successful motivator for innovation in the world’s history, and has been copied by countries worldwide.

Mr. President, we don’t have an incentive problem. We have regulation problems. We have tax problems. We have rising energy and commodity prices. We have an increasingly unfavorable global business environment. We have legislative uncertainties hanging over businesses’ heads like the Sword of Damocles.
