Hump Day

Do they really need $2 million dollars to do this?

The U.S. Department of Agriculture announced today it is giving $2 million to food behavior scientists to use marketing tricks to encourage kids to pick fruits and veggies over cookies and french fries.

Some of the ideas include hiding chocolate milk behind plain milk, putting the salad bar near checkout, placing fruit in pretty baskets and accepting only cash as payment for desserts.

Another idea suggests using pre-paid cards that only allow students to purchase healthy options from the school cafeteria.

Studies by Cornell University researchers have found these tactics work, the Associated Press reports, and Cornell will start a new child nutrition center to test more of these methods.

It appears our little commie leaders already have figured out how to make people do what they want. So, what do they need the money for? So they can sit around and make fancy Powerpoint presentations about it?

The release outlines the reasoning behind the funding as well: leaving choices to schools, students, and parents is not the way to ensure students make “healthful choices.” Good intentions, it explains, often do not translate into good choices.

You stupid little folks can’t be trusted to make your own decisions. Don’t worry. Mommy government is here to nudge you in the proper direction.

In other irritating news, Michelle Obama hits the campaign trail. She’s heading to Milwaulkee. Wasn’t Obama just there?

“I see it in the child whose mom has just lost her job and worries about how her family will pay the bills,” Mrs. Obama says. “I see it in the child whose dad has just been deployed and tries so hard to be brave for his younger siblings. I see it in the child stuck in a crumbling school, who looks around and wonders, ‘What does this mean for my future?’ ”

They like to talk about “crumbling” schools. Has anyone ever seen one of these crumbling schools?

And, what does the structure have to do with the quality of learning?

Oh yea. Nothing.

Added Ha ha:

According to NOW, ok to call a female politician a whore if they’re Republican.

Which makes me wonder, wtf is NOW up to now-a-days? So I visited their website. Splashed across their front page are a bunch of newstories that really don’t have anything specific to do with women. Just a bunch of liberal causes. A trip to their “issues” page turns up the following TOP PRIORITY ISSUES:

Abortion/ reproductive rights
Promoting diversity/ending racism
Lesbian rights
Violence against women
Constitutional equality
Economic justice (code word here, for communism)

Affirmative Action
Disability Rights
Family/Family Law
Fighting the Right
Global Feminism
Judicial Nominations
Marriage Equality
Media Activism
Mothers/Caregivers Economic Rights
Working for Peace
Social Security
Supreme Court
Title IX/Education
Women-Friendly Workplace
Women in the Military
Young Feminist Programs

While some of these things can be seen as pertaining to women, overwhelmingly we can say with no doubt that NOW has simply become a left-wing shrill group.

Check out this link to the Fighting the Right, which is exactly what it sounds like.
