Quick read

Someone over at … I dunno, I thing bigpeace, recommended this article on the trial of the Khmer Rouge criminals. Here’s a bit for my son’s English teacher, who keeps telling the kids she LOVES communism.

There is no such thing as real Communism without massacre, torture, concentration camps, gulags, or laogai. And if there has never been any such thing, then we must conclude that there could be no other outcome: Communist ideology leads necessarily to mass violence, because the masses do not want real Communism.

Get that? The masses don’t want communism, so the only way to get the society – as a whole – to get with the program is to eliminate the dissenters. They will NOT be assimilated.

[U]ntil now, we have had no trial for Communism, though real Communism killed or mutilated more victims than Nazism and Fascism combined. Communism’s trial has never taken place, outside the intellectual sphere, for two reasons. First, Communism enjoys a kind of ideological immunity because it claims to be on the side of progress. Second, Communists remain in power in Beijing, Pyongyang, Hanoi, and Havana.

Progress. Progressive. See the connection? Obama even used the word in his Rolling Stone interview, saying it would be a mistake for progressives to sit this election out. So, right here in the United States we have a president directly appealing to today’s “mini”* communists.

And just like full-blown communism, people do not want. See: Tea Party.

Update:

Or not so “mini”. See The Revolutionary Communist Progressive Labor Party.

Here’s the Vermont Progressive Party

If you compare/contrast the progressive party (of Vermont, but they read like every other progressive party statement of principals) to the “Revolutionary Communist Progressive Labor Party” – they are virtually the same. The communies have a bit of a marketing problem, so the proggs have managed to pretty-up their language.

PLP says: the PLP fights to smash capitalism-wage slavery. While the bosses and their mouthpieces claim “communism is dead;” capitalism is the real failure for billions all over the world. Capitalism returned to the Soviet Union and China because socialism failed to wipe out many aspects of teh profit system, like wages and division of labor.

Vermont Progressives says:

–The purpose of the Progressive Party is to promote economic, social and environmental justice and sustainability through electoral and other democratic political activities, and to become the majority political party, while protecting minority and individual rights and opportunities.
–Society’s wealth should not be concentrated in the hands of a few, and a wealthy minority should not control the conditions under which we live.

–Our society’s deeply rooted discrimination against low-income people, whether overt, subtle or institutional, needs to be abolished wherever it exists.
–Human labor is the key to creation of wealth. We challenge the assumed right to derive vast wealth from ownership or position.

PLP:
Capitalism inevitably leads to wars. PLP organizes workers, students and soldiers to turn these wars into a revolution for communism — the dictatorship of the proletariat. This fight requires a mass Red Army led by the communist PLP.

Progressive Party:

Human survival requires the elimination of nuclear weapons and the redirection of military spending to human needs.

Not necessarily the same. But communists often state that international wars are a distraction from the true battle we should be fighting. Capitalism.

Commies
Communism means working collectively to build a society where sharing is based on need. We will abolish work for wages, money and profits. Everyone will share in society’s benefits and burdens.

Progressives

–Basic needs, including housing, food, health care, education and energy should be affordable to all and not the means for private profit.
–The burden of taxes should be shared based on ability to pay.

Commies:
Communism means abolishing racism and the concept of race.

Communism means abolishing the special oppression of women workers.

Progressives:

–Our society’s deeply rooted racism and white privilege, whether overt, subtle or institutional, need to be abolished wherever they exist.
–The prevalence of sexism, both overt and subtle, limits and damages us all. More than merely encouraging women to fully participate, we must affirmatively assure their inclusion in all aspects of economic and civil society.
–Al people, regardless of sexual orientation, should be able to participate fully in society without interference. We must affirmatively ensure their inclusion in all aspects of society.
–Consistent with the rights and equality of others, religious and cultural minority groups deserve respect and freedom from governmental interference.

Commies:
Communism means abolishing nations and nationalism. One International working class, one world, one Party.

Proggressives:

No nation should exploit the labor or resources of another nation or people.

I understand that last is a weak link, but the progressive movement touts the “World community” ideology, which dovetails nicely with the abolition of national identity. Obama has spent a ton of time beating up on everything American, apologizing and bowing to foreign leaders, which is the first step in looking outward for guidance on how we can become ‘better’ people.

Commies:
Communism means the Party leads every aspect of society. For this to work, millions of workers — eventually everyone — must become communist organizers. Join Us!

No such statement exists on the Vermont Progressive page. But, it could be argued (it could be a post of it’s own) that the progressive movement seeks to infiltrate into every aspect of our lives. Nudging us into making correct decisions regarding what we eat; what we drive. Our healthcare decisions have been taken away from us. Here, the progressive have taken a much more covert approach.

Today’s progressives have an agenda that is frighteningly close to those of Marx. Absent is the revolution.
