Tax Drudge Report?

Part of Obama’s “reinventing” journalism. *

For instance, one proposal would, “Allow news organizations to agree jointly on a mechanism to require news aggregators and others to pay for the use of online content, perhaps through the use of copyright licenses.”
In other words, government policy would encourage a tax on websites like the Drudge Report, a must-read source for the news links of the day, so that the agency can redistribute the funds collected to various newspapers.

I’m thinking the invention is modeled after this.

From which we learn this today*:

The Israelis remain bound and determined to maintain their policy to commit piracy in international waters and then try to justify it to the international community. They even have the audacity to refer to the peace activists as terrorists, working with terrorist organizations. The only terrorists the world sees are Israeli. Israel behaves like a rogue state, created and founded by acts of terrorism and sustained by daily acts of state terrorism.

*Pravda of old is gone, of course, but Pravda Online is run by former Pravda newspaper employees.

Yes. Tax the aggregators. Ignore the fact that actually drive more traffic to your news site that would happen without them. Tax them out of existence and watch your revenue stream dry up even more.

These are the kinds of brilliant business decisions you get when you let liberals play at being grown-ups
