Brave New World/updated

The White House has investigated allegations against the White Houses and decided that the White House did nothing inappropriate. **

White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs said the same day that “lawyers in the White House and others have looked into conversations that were had with Congressman Sestak, and nothing inappropriate happened.” Senior adviser David Axelrod added on Monday that “when the allegations were made, they were looked into, and there was no evidence of such a thing.

Well, I’m glad we cleared all that up!

Sestak’s no longer interested in bringing up the whole ugly issue. Apparently he’s moving-on or something.

Now that Mr. Sestak is the party’s nominee, the White House has switched its support to him. President Obama was the first person to call to congratulate him on his victory, Mr. Sestak said, and he offered his help in the campaign.

Mr. Sestak said he would be “honored” if Mr. Obama came to Pennsylvania to campaign for him.

See, the thing is, if someone DID offer Sestak a job … well, that’s a felony*.

“Practically everyone that interviews him comes back with the same thing: he can’t be allowed to make an allegation against the White House and then say enough is said. It doesn’t work that way. Either he’s lying, or covering up felonies for political purposes.”

Issa has also asked Attorney General Eric Holder to appoint a special prosecutor to investigate. The White House has repeatedly declined to comment on the situation.

Ha haa haaa. Of course they have.

You know, Nixon should have tried this.

Byron York in The Washington Examiner; it’s been 307 days since Oilbama held a press conference.

When Obama last held a big news conference, there had not yet been terrorist attacks at Fort Hood, Detroit, and Times Square. Scott Brown was an unknown Massachusetts state senator. There was no national health care bill, much less national health care law.

What could he possible have to answer for?

In one sense, the press, or at least some members of the press, have only themselves to blame. Obama treats them with contempt because he knows that when big tests come, they’ve always been on his side. There’s no reason for him to think they won’t be there in the future. “Most of you covered me,” he told the media elite at the 2009 White House Correspondents’ Association dinner. “All of you voted for me.”
That’s the attitude coming out of the Oval Office every day. Why does Obama do it? Because he can.

Remember Obama’s famous retort: I won. And STFU.

*Whoever solicits or receives, either as a political contribution, or for personal emolument, any money or thing of value, in consideration of the promise of support or use of influence in obtaining for any person any appointive office or place under the United States, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than one year, or both.” – 18 USC Sec. 211

**Must credit LA Times for that bit.

More importantly, the administration asked Bob to “investigate”, and after his leg quit tingling, Bob found that he was strangely aroused and the administration had done nothing wrong.
